Activities
Kirkland Lake boasts some of the best camping spots in Northern
Ontario. Whether you’re tenting, RV'ing, or looking to rent a place,
you’ll find it here amidst the peace and quiet of the great north.
- Looking for a spot not too far from town? A number of private
establishments rent out cabins by the day, week or longer. Accompanying
services vary from basic “go to it and have fun” to
full service with meals, guiding, etc. To find a facility that
suits your tastes, search our Business
Directory.
- Want to go it alone? Try Culver Park, Raven
Park, Kap
Kig Iwan Park, or Crystal Beach. These popular getaways are
a short drive from the downtown. They feature sandy beaches and
a range of amenities. Daily, weekly, monthly, or seasonal stays
may be available.
- If you’re longing for something a bit quieter, consider
Esker
Lakes Provincial Park. Located about 30 minutes from town,
Esker Lakes offers 100 campsites, 63 of which have electrical
service. Trailer, single tent and group camping sites are available.
Really want to rough it? Then consider combining an extended trip
where you can do a little fishing, or maybe even some mountain biking.
Check out our section on Canoeing/Kayaking
for some incredible trips. But be safe and be smart. Camping on
crown land is a lot more challenging and demanding. Accidents can
happen quickly and help can be hard to come by. And take care of
the environment. It doesn’t take much to spoil a natural setting.
We suggest you check out the Ontario
Ministry of Natural Resources website for some information that
can help you plan your trip.
