The collection of household waste is conducted weekly by Teck Northern
Roads, working under contract to the Corporation of the Town of
Kirkland Lake. If you need information regarding pickup days in

Permissible Items
While the TNR guys are pretty easy to get along with, there are
certain things they will not accept. For instance:
· clippings/branches from trees/shrubs that are NOT bundled
in dimensions 5 ft. x 3 ft. x 3 ft.
· building materials, broken plaster, cement or waste from
construction or renovations
· propane tanks, batteries
· broken glass
· gas cans, paints, BBQ starters
· needles/sharps, dressings and bandages
· oil, antifreeze, solvents
· car parts
· tree trunks, stumps, loose leaves
· poisons, pesticides, herbicides
· pool chemicals, ammonia, bleach
· cleaning fluids, drain cleaners, oven cleaners
· any materials which become frozen to a container and
cannot be removed from by shaking
White
Goods
White goods such as stoves, washing machines etc. can be brought
directly to the recycling depot at 37 Duncan Avenue North, or to
the Kirkland Lake Landfill. K.L. Auto & Recycling will also
collect your white goods. They can be reached at 568-8383.
KL Landfill
The Kirkland Lake Landfill is located on Hwy 66 east. Its hours
of operation are from 8 am to 6 pm, Monday to Friday, and from 8 am to 12 pm
on Saturdays. Tipping fees apply. Disposals that require immediate burial are accepted, but you should
call a day in advance to make the necessary arrangements. See User Fees here.
