There is always something to do in Kirkland Lake. Whether you are seeking people who share your interests, find spiritual solace or are just looking for a place you can go to relax and socialize, you’ll find what you are looking for.

  • KL is home to a variety of sports clubs, from Karate to soccer to slow pitch. The best place to find information on organized sports is the Joe Mavrinac Community Complex.
     
  • Kids and young people have the opportunity to make new friends and learn new skills with groups like the Brownies, Girl Guides, or the Air and Army Cadets. The Boys and Girls Club is an excellent starting point (8 Hudson Bay Avenue, Tel: 567 4220). Don't forget JSANO, one of the best artistic learning experiences for young people in the whole province.
     
  • Seniors looking for something to do might want to contact the Encore Club (30 Second Street, Tel 567 7973) or Les 50 Plus (39 Kirkpatrick Street, Tel: 568-8433) for information.
  • If your interests lie in community service, you can check out such organizations as the Kinsmen or Kinettes, the Kiwanis, Knights of Columbus, Lions Club or Rotary.
     
  • Want to expand your cultural or artistic horizons? Visit the Teck Centennial Library or the Museum of Northern History. There are also numerous live entertainment options to consider, including the Kirkland Lake Arts Council, Kaberet, or the Churchill Drive Swing Band. A good place to find out more information is the Museum of Northern History (2 Chateau Drive, Tel: 568 8800).
  • Looking to get back to your roots? Kirkland Lake is home to a vibrant French, Italian, Polish and Croatian communities, as well as a host of others. First nations people can call the Beaverhouse First Nation for onward references (29 Government Road East, Tel: 567 2022).
  • KL has a full slate of special events, from concerts to drag races, sno-cross and dog sleds. Learn more by visiting our Events section, or visiting the Festivals Committee website.
