Waste Management - Recycling

Back to Waste Management; Composting

Kirkland Lake began residential curb side recycling in 2003. Recyclables are collected on a bi-weekly basis by Teck Northern Roads, working under contract to the Corporation of the Town of Kirkland Lake. If you need information regarding pickup days in your neighborhood, or wish to comment on TNR’s service, contact:

Timing

Collection is bi-weekly on the same day as garbage collection. Part of this program includes a central depot system, which is located at 37 Duncan Ave. North (after Goodyear Tire).

Blue Boxes

Items for recycling should be placed in a blue recycling box, next to your household waste on your normal garbage collection day. Recyclables that are too large to fit in the Blue Box should be neatly and separately bundled and brought to the central recycling depot, located at 37 Duncan Avenue North (former KL Machine and Welding building).

Blue boxes can be picked up at the Town Hall at 3 Kirkland Street, or at the Department of Physical Services at 1 Dunfield Road, Monday to Friday between 8:30 am and 4:00 pm. The price is $5.00 per blue box and $2.00 per lid.
