The Kirkland Lake Fire Services provides fire suppression, control of hazardous materials, auto extrication, arson investigation, public education, fire prevention, fire code advice, inspections and enforcement of the fire code, fire related building code inspections and rescue response services for Kirkland Lake and surrounding communities.

Ambulance services are coordinated through the District of Timiskaming Social Services Administration Board. The Kirkland & District Hospital is designated as an Associate Base Hospital for the area spanning from Wavell in the north to the junction of Highway 112 and Highway 11 in the south, and east from the Quebec border to Matachewan in the west.

VCARS

Victim Crisis Assistance & Referral Service

Victim Crisis Assistance Referral Service (VCARS) is a community-based service that assists police in providing short-term emotional support, practical assistance and referrals to victims of crime, tragic circumstance or disaster. Crisis Assistance is provided by specially trained community volunteers who are on-call to area police services, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
