The Town of Kirkland Lake Property
Standards By-Law regulates the maintenance and occupancy of
properties located within the Town. Property standards complaints
most often received by staff include:
* heavy undergrowth and noxious weeds
* rubbish, garbage, litter and debris in all yards
* wrecked, dismantled, unlicensed or inoperable vehicles
* dilapidated buildings and structures
* substandard plumbing, electrical, heating and ventilation systems
in dwelling units
Enforcement
The Property
Standards By-Law is enforced on a complaint basis. Inspection
and enforcement are done by the Planning
and Building Division of the Department
