Economic Development Division is mandated to attract and maintain a diverse business community in Kirkland Lake. The Division is the primary influencer, innovator, leader and coordinator of the economic development process in the community. Its specific responsibilities include:

  Developing and implementing strategic plans for the community’s economic development;
• Conducting project planning, administration and management;
• Liaison with provincial and federal government agencies on issues and initiatives that impact on the economic future of Kirkland Lake;
• Marketing the community to prospective investors and tourists;
• Providing basic research and information analysis on local conditions to prospective investors; and
• Working with other organizations, such as community interest groups, government agencies and businesses to improve the business climate in Kirkland Lake and attract new investment.
