Chief Administrative Officer

The Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) ensures that quality services are available to residents in line with Council approved policies and directions. As head of the Corporation, he/she provides leadership to the staff management team and co-ordinates the administrative functions of the Corporation.

Responsibilities of the CAO include:

  • Council and External Relations: To ensure that the needs, concerns and complaints from both Council and the public are dealt with in a timely and constructive manner.
  • Plans and Budget: To establish and maintain an effective planning cycle for the Municipality, as well as obtain Council’s approval for the Town’s budget.
  • Program and Organizational Effectiveness: To ensure that approved and funded programs are carried out and completed according to plan in a timely and effective manner; and to establish, monitor and maintain an organizational design that fosters the achievement of Town programs.
  • Compliance: To ensure that all legislative requirements of the Town’s administration are met and complied with.
