SPRING CLEAN-UP
Tuesday May 20, 2008 to Tuesday May 27, 2008 has been
declared “Spring Clean-Up” in the Town of Kirkland Lake.
During spring cleanup, residents are allowed to place
on the roadside, a maximum total volume of combined waste amounting to
approximately 3 cubic meters (equivalent of a full size ˝ ton truck box).
ATTENTION: VEHICLE TIRES, FREON CONTAINING APPLIANCES
(SUCH AS FRIDGES, FREEZERS, AND AIR CONDITIONERS) ROCKS, BOULDERS, AND DEBRIS
FROM BUILDING DEMOLITION WILL NOT BE PICKED UP.
In order to keep our streets clean we ask that all
items be PLACED NOT DUMPED on the roadside the DAY PRIOR
to your scheduled pick-up. Debris placed
after the scheduled date will not be picked up.
FREE TIPPING FEES for
residential waste will be in effect from Tuesday May 20th until Saturday May 31st
excluding Sundays for those residents wishing to take their own refuse to the
Landfill Site. Landfill hours are Monday to Friday 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. and Saturdays 8:00 a.m. to 12 noon.
TREASURE HUNTING is encouraged but please leave
all waste in neat piles on the streets.
IN ORDER TO REDUCE LANDFILL
COSTS, WE ASK THAT DEBRIS BE SEPARATED IN 3 PILES BEING; WOOD PRODUCTS, METAL PRODUCTS, AND REMAINING
DEBRIS.
Brush cuttings to be neatly bundled, tied and not over
one (1) metre greatest measurement. Rakings to be placed in suitable containers. There will be no pick-up in the lanes.
Pick-up will take place on the following dates:
Tuesday May 20, 2008 Area surrounded by
Taylor Avenue, Brookbank Avenue, Churchill Drive, Station Road, Government Road
and Main Street.
Wednesday May 21, 2008 All areas south of
Taylor Avenue and Brookbank Avenue including Taylor Avenue, Brookbank Avenue
and Conroy Avenue in Harvey Kirkland
Thursday May 22, 2008 All areas east of Churchill Drive and Station Road
including Government Road from Station Road to Burnside Drive.
Friday May 23, 2008 Chaput Hughes and Swastika including Chateau Drive,
Macassa and Lakeshore sub-divisions.
Monday May 26, 2008 Federal
Townsite, including Wright Hargreaves Avenue
Tuesday May 27, 2008 to Goodfish.
