Recruitment Assistance Resources
- Inventory
of Programs and Services: A bilingual web site
providing access to a comprehensive searchable database
of local, provincial and federal employment programs and
services, the IPS is an invaluable tool to assist job
seekers, employment service providers, community agencies
and the public.
- ON-Site
Ontario: A program that matches Canadian firms and institutions
with university or college graduates in a range of disciplines
- for up to six months - at low cost.
- Job
Connect is a provincially funded initiatives located
at Northern College at 140 Government Road East. Job Connect
provides a bilingual job search services to assist unemployed
people, especially youth, gain the skills and knowledge
they need in order to find and keep jobs. They can be

- Subsidies
– NOW is also a provincially funded program that offers
wage subsidies to employers who hire participants facing
labour market difficulties, thus lowering their labour
costs. They can be reached at 567 9291, ext 677/663.
- Employers should also be aware of the Ontario
Works program, administered by the District
of Timiskaming Social Services Administration Board
(Tel (705) 567 9366). This program offers financial incentives
to offset the cost training in addition to hiring new
employees.
